    Default Nickajack 10/22/2015

Got moved into new house......still lots of unpacking to do. But decided to take a little break today and do a little scouting trip to one of my crappie spots at Nickajack. Well the crappie are there....hallelujah! Caught 13 today...could have had the limit but had to get back up the road. All crappie caught on a Bison colored Trout Magnet using 2# test line and 2# test fluorocarbon leader. The fish were all holding tight to cover. They were located at all depths of the water column....21 feet deep....but if you didn't put it right next to a shelf...big boulder.....they weren't moving far to get it. Had two fish right at 13 inches and one 10 inch fish....rest were 11-12 inch fish. All fish given to a gentleman who needs them far worse than me. Nickajack crappie are really thick bodied fish....lot of fun on 2# test.....so for the next 6-8 weeks will be tearing up I-24 from Murfreesboro to Nickajack. It will just get better next couple of weeks. Funny now that I have a boat still fishing from bank....at least for crappie.....these spots have produced extremely well for me over the years and just can't give them up. Life is good!

Good report...If I knew where your honey hole was I would help you keep them thinned out .and would fish from the bank a lot more.lol

Wow nice. Be careful making that trip over the mountain. Would like to make a trip to Nickajack but not sure my old truck would stop with a boat behind it going over the mountain.
