Jerry and I fished the MTCC tournament at Woods on Friday night. Since my boat is STILL in the shop we took Jerry's boat again. I had went over to his house the weekend before and we worked out all the electrical issues he had. He bought his boat used and there are about 50 wires running everywhere but we figured it out so our hopes were high for this tournament. His boat worked flawless for the most part. So no issues there. We knew of a few good spots we always catch fih on so we went directly there but we could not find a single keeper fish all night. I think we were the only team who did not bring in at least 1 fish. Our experience at Woods is limited to say the least but I have fished it about 15 times in the last 3 years so I should have been able to come up with something but the spots we normally catch fish on produced nothing. We ended the night under the bridge there and only caught 7 dinks for it but the yellow bass were hitting anything you put in the water. Jerry even caught a couple on a bare hook. Water temp was 85-87 with light wind and half a moon for most of the night. Air temp was 80 going down to 63 when I left at 1:30 am. As I said Jerry's boat did good until we went to pack it in and it would not start. Lucky for us we were only about 150 yards from the ramp. Will be doing more fishing there to try and figure that place out. Night fishing for us just has not been good to us this year. Summer is not over yet so we may get out another time and try again but the night tournaments are over for this year. Check out the MTCC page to see how the guys that caught fish did.
