Default Rebport: Chickamauga Lake, Crappie 7-12-2015

We had our crappie club fishing seminar today. Four of us more experienced fishermen, took out 8 of our members in pairs for an hour each to show them the different ways in which we locate and catch fish. I believe that everyone had a great time. We beat the heat and storms as well.

We did a lot more looking at graphs and explaining why/what we are looking for than actually stopping to fish, although we did get in a couple of casts here and there. The last group that I had was fortunate that we found a school of crappie and with about 20 minutes to fish and we landed about 12 crappie, 2 bass, 1 yellow bass and 1 bluegill. The bite coincided with the solunar feeding period for the morning. It was a great way to end a morning of teaching. We already have 4 signed up for the August seminar. Our club is not having tournaments during the hot months of July and August. It is extremely hard to keep crappie alive during these months, so we chose to teach instead of compete.
