I met a friend early this AM about daylight and we launched and planned to fish for crappie until the sun got up higher in the sky and began to get warm. That moment came at 9:40 AM when we decided to quit with the fish still biting. Very good moon phase right now and fish are aggressive, but deep. Water temps ranged from 84.4 to 86.2 depending upon the area that we were in. We fished docks and vertical structure. We never caught a shallow crappie.
Mo Glo Blue Ghost in 1/16 oz jig heads were about the only color that we could get the fish to bite today. Had to dead stick lures straight down under the boat in 35 feet of water on the vertical structure to get bites. There was virtually no current, so we didn't even check off shore structure.
We quit early today so that I could go this afternoon and try to catch a TARP Bluegill. Looking forward to that little fishing trip.![]()
