Chickamauga Lake 5-30-15 Report

A fishing trip Saturday that started a little slow but the bite really turned on late in the day. Crappie all over my fishfinder and they were in a biting mood. We started catching fish one right after the other with our double rigs of jigs and minnows. We caught around 60 crappie with over 50 keepers. The few that didn't measure up were still over 9 inches. We caught a few other species in the bunch also. The best depth was around 13 feet with some as deep as 22 feet. Deb caught a nice TARP crappie that was 14.75 inches in less than 10 feet.

We got lucky as I found out a little later we had a very strong current flow late that afternoon when I checked the TVA water release schedule.. The current or lack of it will make or break a trip on the "Chick".
