Sounds like a good trip and always fun to see and fish new areas of a lake. Thanks for the report.

Went 5-30 to Tims Ford devil step ramp. Launched at 7:30 and headed to owl hollow. Never been there before so all was new to me. Was looking for bluffs with downed trees and didn't find exactly what I was looking for. Found a few trees in deep water, 30ft, but the fish I found on them were bass. They were some nice ones also. Caught a couple of large mouth that went in the 4 pound range and a couple of nice smallies to go with that were a little short to keep but put up a nice fight. Also a couple of more smaller bass. Caught a couple of nice bluegill and about 5 stripe and that was it. Didn't find any crappie up that way. Was a beautiful area with very little boat traffic and not to many piers to speak of. Nice day just no crappie. Left there a little dejected about it all at 1:30. Only dejected because I didn't find any new fishing spots for crappie in the summer. Seen some good prospects for the spring and winter but that will take another trip during those times. I'm sure there were fish there but just didn't find them. Good fishing all.

A bad day fishing is better than a good day at work! lol Sometimes it pays to do a little scouting. Sure helps you to know where and where not to fish. Thanks for sharing the report.
Life is good. Fishing is better.
We weren't far from one of our better areas to crappie fish. Just a little bit further downriver from Owl Hollow.
