Got limit of black nose crappie at Center Hill today. Most were 12-13 inches.....had 2 that were just over 10 inches. For those not familiar with black nose crappie out of Center Hill they have very broad shoulders.....meaning they are thick crappie. The lures of the day were a Purple Redemption Trout Magnet and a Midnight Blue Slab Magnet. Life is good!

Thanks Pappy....Yeah I just threw them on the Hawg Trough to give an idea of size. You better believe those two at the 10 inch mark were measured right....LOL. You know I still use a tip you gave several years back....use a #1 hook. I had to search to find my 1/32 jig heads with a #1 hook but you don't miss many with a #1.
Regards
Funny you should mention 1/32oz jigs w/#1 hooks ....
Just the other day I dug out some that I poured several decades ago. They're the "insert" style ... the ones that the lead looks sorta like a baseball bat, and meant to be put "inside" of a hollow tube bait. I was rigging up some jigheads on leaders for use on my Spider Rigging poles, and just happened to think about them, so I dug them out and rigged a few up to try. Since I don't use hollow tube baits these days, and have gone to weedless jigheads since back around 20-30yrs ago ... they'd just gotten buried in the "old stuff" tackle, and nearly forgotten. They have the Eagle Claw 570 #1 Aberdeen style hooks in them ... and they always worked when I was using them, so I have little doubt they'll still work, even for this "newfangled" method
Now all I have to do is wait until about 20-30 feet of water can be drained out of my local lakes, to get them back down to Summer Pool, so I can launch the boat & start gettin' jiggy with these fish.
