I hope everyone is holding out all right in this ice storm we've had. We've been without power since around 9 pm Mon but we have other sources of heat, lanterns for lights and a gas stove for cooking. The power company says that it may be next week before we regain it.
I've had to cut trees off our fences and the road. My wife lost 2 goats one from a broken leg I assume falling on the ice and another for unknown reasons. Both were yearling goats and very active. The cattle are all fine but eating hay faster than I can get it put out. All my hunting dogs were happy to see me coming with a fresh bale of straw for them and a steaming hot bowl of gravy with their food. I have the heater going in my shop and lanterns to see with and I have stripped the line off all my reels since I've been meaning to do that for 2 weeks now and restrung them. I've also tied flys with all the jig heads I had today. Around 100 I would guess. My fly box was getting thin but I should be good for a while now.
Most of the sheltered cove on Tellico that I went by today are iceing over so I wouldn't plan on fishing tomorrow unless you fish the warm water below a dam somewhere.
Everyone be safe everyone and stay warm.
