Default George Creek on Ft. Loudoun

Was wondering if anyone fish George Creek on Ft. Loudoun? when the water drops in winter like now what to use...jigs, live bait, jigs with minnow...if jigs what colors are best...do I vertical jig it or with a float. I have been using minnows in falling trees have had little luck with about 3 or 4 keepers but I want to start catching my limits. Thanks for any info

Georges creek is a great place to fish especially with smaller boat (same reason it gets so crowded too). It is however better (my opinion) when the bite is shallow. Now I would assume you would have to pull back off the brush and fish 10-12 feet under a float with fly and minnow. Standard loudoun fair, blue, white, chartreuse & black. Find a tree top, pull 25 yards off of it and fish float and fly all the way to the boat. there's also a creek channel in there too.

Blue flies tipped with a minnow have always worked best for me in that area. I usually fish 2-8 ft under a bobber off of blowdowns
