    Default Normandy 10-26-14

Lynn and I got a little bit of a late start because of fog in the area. Got to the lake with it looking like soup. Fog was still heavy on the lake and we motored slowly from barton springs ramp to the bridge. Had to find it by listening for cars going over it because we couldn't see it. We caught 2 at the bridge and another 2 near a tree in the water. Fish were caught 15 ft deep on minnows under slip floats. . Jigs did not get anything today. Fish were scattered anywhere from 6-30 ft although I only caught 1 at 6ft deep near a brush pile up river. We caught about 12, some small bass, with 5 keepers crappie. Biggest was about 12 inch. We did try some coves but all that was there were bluegill. And they were all over the place enjoying the sun. Nice weather after the fog lifted. Water temp 64-69.

Thanks for sharing the report. Those 5 keepers equal 10 fillets! lol Glad the fog lifted and you two got to enjoy the day.

Sounds almost exactly like my last outing there a couple of weeks ago minus the fog. Not a whole lot of fish but some chunky ones for sure. I went pretty far up the lake and got into quite a few short fish so maybe the next couple of years will be good.

Have been catching a lot of dinks there the last 2 years. Use to be you couldn't hardly find one. But they are growing fast. All the throw backs were right at 9.5 inch. Just wait till next year.

Sounds like one of my trips there Dave. I run a lot and get a few here and there but always finish with enough for a good dinner. Glad y'all had fun.
