Default Chickamauga "Wham Bam" Crappie 10-18-2014

Jerry and I picked the garden this morning. We had our first limit in 1 hour and 20 minutes. On 3 occasions we both caught keeper size Crappie. At the end of the morning we caught 35 Crappie with 30 keepers. (Picture attached).

The water temp was 67*. Because of the light breeze and water current I fished with a 1/16 oz. jig with a BGBS. We only fished 2 deep water bluffs.

Jerry just knew he was going to show out and catch another 3 lb. Crappie today. He did not bring the right color of jigs so I shared some of mine with him. They cost more on the water I told him. lol

Most of the fish measured 11" to 12" long. Nice fat Crappie. Good times!

A good day Kingfish. A partner and I struggled to bring five to the weigh in. I needed your MOJO.

Congrats on another good day there.
    GO BIG ORANGE !

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

Kingfish ... how deep were your fish holding on those bluffs, if you don't mind my asking. I'm headed to Watts Bar next weekend, and might have to try some bluffs if the docks don't produce.

CP the water was 30' to 35' deep. We caught our fish in about 15' - 18' fow. The bank really drops off fast. Casting toward the bank then slowly bouncing/walking it back toward the boat. When we got into the strike zone...just pause and dead stick the lure with an occasional light twitch.

Good job guys. Bet Jerry was chomping at the bit to get another 3lber. Much like skeet bum we struggled also to bring fish to the weigh in. Tried fishing shallow and stuck out. Fish were 15-20 ft deep from reports I heard at Woods.
