Default Boone Lake 7/29 - should i fish?

    Hi All,

We are coming down to TN later this week to visit friends in Johnson City. We are renting a pontoon on Boone Lake one day. I actually didn't think about fishing at all until just today. I'm wondering if it's worth it to buy 1 day licenses and try to catch some fish. Would bluegill be my best bet right now for fishing with kids? What about bass? Of course, I would love to try for crappie but I figure they will be deeper.

I dont fish Boone lake, but I am not located near it either, so I cant give details of that particular lake, but I would think its probably as other TN lakes are now and setting up a summer thermocline. Fishing is pretty good now at about 12 to 15 feet deep for crappie in middle TN anyway. Good luck to you if you go.

I have a few pools packed but will probably just fish ponds in friends neighborhood and tube and swim on Boone.
