Thanks for the report, nothing wrong with that trip at all. 13" perch! If I knew we had them over there that size I wouldn't go ice fishing up north...13 is a nice fish.

I catch a lot of them (perch) late winter-early spring. 8-10 inch Spermers.

Bud my campground host said I should of kept it but wasn't sure of size limit so I didn't, what is the size limit on them? He said they are some of the better eating fish in the lake...
I can't even find them listed in the statewide limits and considering they are an invasive species I would think there would be no limits. Don't take my word on this but I am going to search further and see if I find any.
EDIT there are no limits on Yellow Perch so next time eat up!!!!!http://www.eregulations.com/tennesse...s-regulations/
There is no limit on size or quantity on yellow perch. I don't eat them. We don't eat any river fish except crappie.

Thanks for the info on the perch guys guess ill keep the next one I catch if I ever do. Slab he looked pretty skinny to me but what do I know as I've never seen one other than a picture. CP I'm a crappie person myself but I did fry up the kity cat I had in the cooler, made a good supper for myself at the camper..
Fresh water perch are some of the best eating fish on the planet. Restaurants up north serve it on menus when they can get them. There is no size limit on them up north and there is plenty of meat on those fish. A 13 inch is considered a jumbo. Great catch.
