Douglas lake

im just a good ole boy from ohio, wondering what the conditions are like down on the great douglas lake. We made a trip there last summer and loved it so much we'd like to move down there.

I was wondering if the lake levels have come up at all this year? Also, Hows the crappie fishing down there?

the lake is clear water temp is 59.7 last week it was 65 cold snap drop it ,water is slowly coming up will be summer pool by june first- crappie are holding in 17 feet of water and full of egges- the male crappie are starting to put thier colors on - I am goin to say a week and have till spawn but some people say they have done spawned out oh well---------booger1

Thanks booger1. Whats the average size of um down there? Do you catch them in the summer in deeper water.

Do you troll, cast, or use floats?

Booger is right,fish still holding around 17'-18 feet,we caught 22 today

Douglas has been great this year. We started fishing in March and have made 8 trips thru last Tuesday. Got our limit each time except for last week when we only got 18 keepers. We troll with plastic grubs and rods runners. Going back tomorrow. There's usually 3 of us in my pontoon with 17 rods exploring the waters.

Hey realdeal, Ohio guy here too. Love Douglas usually hit it about 5-6 times a year. First trip this next weekend. Hope to get into them. Tight lines to ya all!
