Default 5-3-14 Rough morning on JPP

Took my 23 yr old daughter out. Her hubby had guard duty so we went to the lake. Launched the boat she parked the truck and I pull in to pick her up. Well she learned the lesson all of us (or most of us) learned early in life. You guessed it, she fell in. I pulled the little wet rat out and loaded the boat. Lucky she only lives about a mile away, so we went to her house for change of clothes.
Got back on the water in time for the wind to get up but we fought as best we could, about three hours w/ only three keepers that we put back and about a 3lb small mouth that gave her good fight. She felt horrible and embarrassed but it was great to spend time w/ my little girl.

Oh I forgot to mention she tore my rod holders off on the way in. Had to go back that afternoon w/ a magnet and retrieve it. She felt pretty bad about that too. I tried to be more understanding than my Dad was when I did it 40 years ago.

Sorry to hear you had such a rough time out there Saturday. I've fished
that lake 30 yrs and as we all know if it can happen it will happen on a lake.
My fishing buddy fell overboard out there a few yrs back. Got him in ok.
    Better luck next time.

Lucky for her it was only her pride hurt and that your rod holders are steel and not stainless steel. Will be something she remembers the rest of her life. Only living a mile away helped to save the day. Thanks for sharing.
