Default Chickamauga Lake 4-18-2014 "Good Friday Crappie"

Jerry and I got today off and decided to make the most of it. We went crappie fishing!

We blasted off at about 8:00 am and fished until about 2:00 pm. Apparently the crappie did not get the word to show up. We struggled until around 10:00 am and then a few began to to show up. Nothing but a small bluegill had been caught until then. We fished shorelines and blow downs and rip rap. We would catch one here and one there. Hard to believe but at one time we caught two keepers at the same time.

We single pole fished with BGBS various colors all with a chartreuse tail light. 1/32 oz. jig. positioned about 30" below a 1" trout float. The water temp. was 60* to 61*.

Boy you two did struggle today didn't ya. Still a decent catch, and any day fishing is better than a day at work. LOL Congrats.
    GO BIG ORANGE !

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

The "Good Friday" wasn't great but some nice keepers. The water should be warming back up the next few days and that will probably turn them on again. Thanks for the pic and report.

Yeah there are some big yellow perch around when you can find them. This weather has the fish all messed up. So good job on a rough day.
