My dad and I fished Percy last weekend at Stewart Creek. We had 8 nice keepers and a lot of throw backs. We are complete newbies so I am sure the old timers are "killing them" as Alphahawk said. We fished toward the main lake from the ramp in 10-18' of water. The bite seemed to stop for us by 1pm. The water temperature started at 53 and was 55 by mid day. The crappie may have moved farther up stream later in the day due to the temperature and that may have been the reason for the bite ending for us. We fished mainly minnows but I know others were having luck on black/hot pink and black/chartreuse jigs. Best of luck to you.

When it was high 60's an right at 70 we were taking them shallow near stickups.

The way I look at it is you have three spots wintering holes, staging areas and bedding areas. We took males and a few females up near the flats and stickups. Moved to the first major drop and found what I took as a staging area with more females being taken.

With these cold temps moving in look at the staging areas back to wintering holes in the deep stuff. I found more crappie right at the break that had structure in the channel. Used a heavy jig or a bottom bounce rig watching the sonar. This is the way I see it and what I'm going to try this week to get back on them. Hope it helps bud, good luck

Thanks slab. That does help. As i said I'm pretty new at this and still trying to figure out how to use the electronics. Appreciate the useful information and i will try to take it to the lake and figure out how to do this thing.

    Thanks again.

spoke to a friend today who lives up near OH and told him what you spoke of. He said to look for the high rock bluffs that have the channel running with them (Deeper water). Said that when this cold came back down it seems the fish he was taking shallow moved to these areas.

Only got out for a few hours this morning. Was foggy early, cleared off nicely but they were hard to find. Was hoping the spawn would be on this weekend, but apparently not. Would love to hear if anyone had any luck on OH today. I've heard Priest was hot earlier in the week.
