Default Found some at Glen Spings yesterday.

Found them shallow but they had no eggs when I cleaned them, all ran from 8.5-10 inches. Had no throwbacks, all we caught were over 8 inches. Found them in a small cove on the east side of the lake. Cove was about 9 feet deep at the mouth, we found them 3/4 of the way back in about 3 feet of water.

We tried jigging timber in the main lake and we tried the rocks around the levee but found no fish in either spot, all the fish we caught came out of that one cove.
    I got 350 heads on a 305 engine.
I get 6 miles to the gallon.
I aint got no good intentions.

This was the first time I ever did any good there. My brother used to live out that way and fished there pretty regularly, he says he never had any trouble finding them but they were always throwbacks. I'm not sure if that was before they lowered the length limit to 8. I used to have the same problem on Herb Parsons before they lowered the length limit to 8 there last year. Both lakes are overpopulated and the crappie are stunted. Now that you can actually keep some of the fish you catch I think I'm going to be fishing these lakes more often now, less expensive on gas than going south. The fish might be smaller but the creel is higher, a limit of 30 smaller fish vs a limit of 15 bigger ones, probably come out about the same.

We didnt have any problems with grass in any of the spots we fished. We did some casting small cranks and curlytail jigs after we ran out of minnows, if you let your bait hit bottom it would come back covered in moss but as long as you didnt let it hit bottom you were fine. I had tried HP Monday and didnt do any good but my boat is out of commision right now so I was finshing from the bank. I tried a couple spots on the levee where I found them spawning on the rocks last year but they werent there. I was with my father in law at Glen Springs and we took his boat and got to fish all over the lake till we found them.
