I know that there is a "mechanics" forum on here but I was hoping this would be a little more geographic specific. Im looking for someone to look at an old Mercury 110 9.8hp. I didnt pay much for it and its not much to look at so unfortunately Im not looking to put a lot into it. I would attempt it myself but I wouldnt know where to start and prime time is almost here so I dont want to end up worse than I am now and wishing I was on the water in a week or so. Just some common running roughly, etc. issues I need addressed. Any recommendations? I am willing to drive 30 miles or so to get it to someone who really knows the old outboards. Ive had some folks look at it around here but the end result is not what I was looking for. Seems to do well for a trip or two and then back to the same old issues. Im not going to mention any names because it very well may not be the mechanics and more just the motor, but I would like someone else to look at it. Thanks for the suggestions.

If you head west (or south) on 79, go thru Dover and cross the Paris Landing bridge. Once you cross the bridge make a right toward Murray, KY. Once you cross the state line there's a place on the right called Rick's. Excellent wrench, specially on the older Mercs.
Harris Marine on 149 in the Hilltop area works on everything
Ricks going towards Murray ky.is very affordable to
