Crappie fishing in and around Harrison Bay and Wolftever Creek Monday afternoon. Fishing some different areas and not fishing quite as hard as we did last year but going about it at a more leisurely pace. We picked up a few crappie in the bay and caught a few more in the creek but ran into a couple of huge schools of yellow bass and caught over 50 of them before we finally shook them.
We caught mostly black crappie fancasting the "flats" with tubes and jigs and a few white crappie vertical fishing jigs and minnows in a little deeper water. Water temperature was 58 degrees and most of the fish were caught in 6-10 feet.
A cell phone pic of a herd of around 20 deer where about half decided to play around in the water for a while and a couple of Wolftever white crappie Debbie caught. All fish were released this trip.
