How windy is too windy?
I am sure there is more than one answer but I am just looking for some advice. I really wanting to get out today but looks like we have 10-15 mph winds in the forecast. I am just not sure how much wind is too much on reelfoot. It has been a couple years since I've been able to make it over there.
Thank for any help!

I clever quip fishing ironic statement crappie!
Kingcrappie..where on this lake do you consider hiding? Also, when you are" hiding", are you strictly jigging? Taking our trip April 10th, needing all the tips o can get. I know the lake pretty well from previous trips, so if,you name it, I will find it. Also, look out for pms on tour Twitter account. Taking my own boat this yr for the first time. My boat isn't much, but still pretty nervous about it.
I fished out in front of Bo's landing and green island today. Wind was tough to fight my friend, but it was do able. I eventually pulled out and put in at Kirby and fished buck basin to get out of the wind. The fishing sucked over there though. Would much rather have been beat to death in the wind. Hiding from the wind isn't hard, but where you go depends upon which way the wind is blowing. Generally when jig season hits you can't go wrong putting in at Kirby. There's always somewhere to hide over there.
It don't hurt a thing to drag chains at reelfoot imo. You can still fish the waters that you want to fish that way.I will go upwind drop one or two chains and drift across the area that I want to fish and usually do good even in 10-15 mph. winds. It works well.
I drag chains and can hold just about anywhere in the lake in 15mph but my little boat is so light it floats high and starts to pitch up and down. Fishing the deep water is over once it gets that bad. Its really good for sneaking shallow and through tight trees though![]()
