I've not fished the "chick" a ton and there's many good lakes in TN but, I will say that the crappie on the "chick" are very healthy.

With the giant stringers of bass coming out of the chick. and most anglers and guides chasing those largemouths Crappie fishing should continue to get bigger and better in this fertile lake. anyone know of a 4lb slab coming out of this lake.

If it does I think that Hunter boy will catch it. He has been tearing them up over there.![]()

I think we will see an abundance of Big crappie show up this year. State record I don't know. Maybe a couple more years down the road.
You won't see anything within 8 oz of the state record.
As numerous and healthy as the crappie were on the "Chick" last year I seldom heard or read reports of crappie over 3 pounds. I wish more people would release those 13-14 inch crappie to grow a little larger then we might see some approaching 4 pounds.
If they are a tarp I let them go!!!!!!!!!
What is the TARP minimum?
I have caught tens of thousand of crappie and i have to date 1 crappie that went 3lbs. It came from Loudon. I have caught thousands on chic and by an far they are the healthiest on avg i see. but no 3 lbers for me.
