I live around Chattanooga and fish Chickamauga Lake. Sorry I can't advise you on the lakes you mentioned. I am sure someone will be along shortly to advise you more on your local lakes. If you ever want to fish Chickamauga send me a pm.

Being new to east tn. which of the lakes around Lenoir City has the best crappie fishing. I can see Loudon from the house so I will be on it a lot. What about Tellico, watts Bar, melton hill. It is a blessing to be around this much water ,but it is confusing.
Thanks in advance

Life is good. Fishing is better.
You can catch some good fish at Watts Bar. The main method I've used there is shooting docks, mostly in April & Oct. ... from the dam area up to around the Bayside area. From the Bayside area up to the Caney Creek area, I've mostly cast jigs to wood cover (mainly during April).
Haven't been there in a couple of years, but I've heard that it's on the upswing ... after a couple of years of people catching more short fish than keepers.

Tellico and Loudon can both be very good. Loudon has been a little slow lately but should pick up. Don't fish Melton Hill or Watts Bar much, so I can't help you there. Chickamauga has probably been the best, like Kingfish 1 said. He has helped me fish there in the past and was very helpful. Check with local bait shops, from time to time and you should pick up some hot good information from them and their customers.
douglas and tellico would be the best. But watts bar and loudon are still very good.
Each lake has it's "perks" and with time you can learn them.
Douglas... you can catch limits almost every day in the winter on the upper end. The bad... gets muddy rather quick after a rain... and it can become "combat" fishing with all the fishermen crowding you.
Tellico... not as easy to catch limits but, it's my "home lake" and I fish it A LOT. The scenery is pretty in most of the places and at most of the time I don't see hardly anyone.
Ft. Loudon... can be smoking hot at times in the spring but, I catch a lot of throw backs. Bad.... not as pretty of a place to fish.
Chickamuaga ... I've not fished it very much and done pretty good and the scenery isn't bad. I find that the "chick" has the healthiest looking fish around and they are thick.
At times some of the best fishing is right below Tellico dam. Also, don't forget the sauger bite below the dam. I've caught a limit of sauger and then a limit of crappie on the same day several times.
