Chickamauga Lake Crappie 12-20-2013

Jerry agreed to go fishing with me today. We blasted off at a leisurely 9:30 am and fished until 1:30 pm. I kinda enjoyed going in the middle of the day.

We checked out some deep water blow downs catching nothing but short Crappie. Moved on to a bluff on the river that had a rock formation dog leg reaching out into the river. During the first five minutes we caught 5 keeper sized Crappie. Loved the fast action. On two occasions we each caught keeper sized Crappie at the same time. Yoo Hoo that is always fun!

The water was still moving pretty fast. I guess they will never close the spillways at the Dam.

While riding out to the river we stopped to watch a group of 6 small yearling deer. They blend in with the woods so well. Nature does a great job of camouflaging them.

Almost ended the day with a catch ratio of 2 keepers out of 3 fish caught. However, we wanted to check out a floating dock and all we could catch off the dock was short fish. Ended the day with 41 caught with 21 keepers.

Jerry and I each caught a decent size White Bass. They sure put up a good fight.

The water temp. was 46*. The color of the day was BGBS Monkey Milk on a 1/16 oz./#2 hook.
