    Default Rain/Kirby pocket@ reelfoot???

I'm heading to reelfoot tomorrow and saturday. I've been told that if there is a substantial amount of rain that the water at Kirby pocket will get muddy. Does anyone with any experience about this have any incite on this. Thanks in advance for any information that can be given.

We've had over 3'' of rain overnight...the water will become very muddy in that area. From my experience, this doesn't bode well with fishing in that area. You need to move to the Lower Basin and fish better water.

Great! Thank you very much for the tip. I may consider putting in at sunset boat ramp and fish green cypress timber or on the west bank of the lower blue basin since there will be a 15 mph west wind. Do you have any other recommendations? I may try fishing the washout. Have you ever had any luck over there? Thanks again.

How long does it usually take for the water to clear up over there?

I will be there at the same time. Does any recommend the upper basin? Burnt Woods? I was there a couple of weeks ago and fish deep water in champions pocket, I am not rigged up for spider riggin nor do I like fishing in the open water any help would be great.

I just talked to a friend of mine and he said that it usaully takes a day for the water to get muddy at Kirby. He is over there right now and he said it was still raining so i guess there is a good chance that it will be muddy at kirby by tomorrow some time. He is going to check it out later in the day and let me know what the water looks like so i'll try to give a more up to date report tonight.

With the amount of rain we are getting, it will be a muddy-mess on the north and middle basins for quite a while. I would be looking at the Gourd, Bend, Starve, and Rat Island area if I was not set-up to troll...if trolling, I would stay on the south end for sure in open water.
