Rite on hwy 79 there is a place called the fords. Its an old lady that sells minnows three dozen for a dollar and they are small minnows. She opens up between 5:30 and 6 in the morning. But for that price it is worth waiting on her to open up imo.Like I said she is old and uses a walker,so she is a little slow. What I do is give her a tip so I don't have to wait on her to go back in to get change.Twelve dozen minnows for 4.38 or something,so I just give her a five and be on my way.She told me that she looses 50-75 dollars every month on minnows. I told her she should raise her prices and she said she wont do it because she enjoys the people coming by.The tackle box also has minnows before six but they will cost alot more and the minnows are alot bigger, its back closer to paris.

X2 on Fords. She been there since the 1940's sweet lady, and I also always leave a good tip, heck I figure the smile on her face is worth stopping by. Watch and don't run over one of her cats.

Yep state route 76 is hwy 79, so if your going to Paris Landing you will be on Hwy 79 SR 76. Coming out of Paris Tn Fords a small blue building amongst pine trees, will be on the left just about 1 mile from Paris Landing

Oh yea Fords is within walking distance from Fishtails, a GREAT place to stay!! If your in the need of tackle of any kind, there is a tackle store about 15miles east on 79 toward Dover. Once in Dover take the left at McDonald's onto hwy 49 also called the Trace. Go approx 1/2 mile and U.S. Bass is on the left. This guy has a unbelievable supply of Bass and Crappie Tackle, 10x as much as Walmart at much better prices. Bobby Garlands, Charlie Brewers, rods, reels, everything for a successful trip. Also across the road from Fishtail Lodge is Dodds market/cafe has ethanol free fuel and some decent breakfast and lunch. Hope you wear them Crappie out.
