Yeah but it is going to be gridlock on Hwy 70 with all the boats coming out of Jackson LMAO!

I saw parts of the convoy while downtown Huntingdon at the hardware store. Lots of boats that should have taken the bypass.:dono

If there is going to be one downfall to this lake, it is going to be similar to Gibson Co lake in that there is not going to be many areas to get out of the wind. Just the lay of the land there. With the nonstop winds we have had for the past two years, that is the one thing I like about Lake Graham. There is always a place there to escape the worst of it, just have to worry about a tree falling on you at any momentrotfl

I am glad I asked the question. Thanks for the info. Least a 2.5 hr drive for me. I will come up with a better plan than kayaks and canoes. Do I have this right? "you can only put your boat, canoe or whatever in at the main ramp". All other access is illegal?

You do understand that this is a brand new lake that has been open to the public for a total of 5 days now right? There are 22 miles of shoreline owned by who knows who. Very few know anything about this place right now except maybe the people in the agencies that built it.

I'm not quite sure about the bolded above. While there I saw at least four locations where what looked like a public (2 paved) road ran into the lake. These areas were in the no wake areas. I also read somewhere that there is some easement around the lake for public fishing, private property or not...? (not real clear on that one) Presumably one could drive to the end of one of these dead end roads and launch a canoe...?

The last time I went to the dead end road off Baker road, there was a sign that was in the road and said ""dead end. Of course, I went around it like any knowledgeable red neck.

I saw those roads on Google Earth. They looked good for a canoe. I will try to call the "lake manager" this week and get some more info.
