This will be my first trip to Reelfoot. I would appreciate any advice and tips you folks are willing to give. We will be renting a boat instead of pulling our own. Thanks

Bigun1 - Where you staying? I will be down the 9th.
Cypress Point. We will be down starting the 7th thru the 10th. We have been wanting to do this for 2-3 years and finally was able to put it all together.
i have stayed there before and and really enjoyed it we caught a lot of fish.if you are going to use their boats i would recomment you taking a transon mount trolling motor and battery i also rigged up a portable fishfinder it helped out a lot i made a bracket to clamp to the transom of the boat that had the transduecer at the bottom and a place to mount the unit on top

yes, I had already planned on the troller. The fish finder is an excellent thought though. HMMmmmmm......... now you have got me thinking????
My .02..............Remember what happened last year end of March first of April? It got warm...real warm. I would be looking in spots where no depth finder is needed. 2-4 FOW. It don't take long for that lake to warm up. I would be jiggin if I were you. If your renting a boat, I would make sure you have a "sculling oar", I would only use your trolling motor if needed (ie...W~I~N~D~Y). Sit right up front and scull, be quiet as you can. Fish Trees, fish slow, fish on or close to bottom. Set it down slow, bring it up slow. Fish the Lilly Pads, same method...
as crazy as the seasons are now you never know what the weather is going to be like. if the fish are stil laying in deep water a fish finder would be nice to have it really helped us
