New member from middle TN

New guy her. I'm fairly new to fishing. I fished as a kid but thats it. I have a 3 Y/O son and want to have him do other things besides TV and video games. I bought a 1997 Bass Tracker proteam 17 with a 40HP. I have been trying to learn all I can about crappie. I fish mainly Old Hickory Lake. It's only a few minutes from me. I am still learning the lake and how to fish. I really do not know anyone to go out on the boat with me or show me the way. So any advice is welcome. Or if you local and wanna go out I will provide the boat if you provide the advice. I just installed a Lowrance Elite 4. So i have to figure that out.

Welcome from E TN. My grandparents lived on OHL, could see the Dupont plant at night from their dock. Check out the TN forum, might pick up some tips on OHL there.

Welcome. I have fished Old Hickory many times. The water is till over 50 degrees so look for structure 12-15 feet in the creeks. Get your bait on the bottom. If it is a warm sunny day such as today they may be 2-4 feet deep around stumps. When the water gets cold, fish the mouths of the creeks at 16-18 feet. I have pulled some big crappie out of there in the winter. Hope that helps.
