Sunrise greeted a foggy morning on the lake. It was quite erie traveling across the stump field with only 20 ft of visibility. You could hear a few other adventurous souls wandering thier way to favorite spots but not see them. They sounded as if they were right next to you. I expected a slow day with the high pressure system sitting right on top of me and I was right. Started the morning working my new spider rigging poles with minnows. After a hour with no luck other than a huge stripper I spiced things up a bit by jigging stumps within reach while I trolled. Picked of a fish here and there over the next hour all on my jig pole and said the heck with trolling. Put away the rods and started working through my colors on the jig pole. The bite was inconsistent as I expected with no real pattern. I just kept working away at it and when I packed it in at noon I had 11 fish in the cooler. Couple of nice ones and a few that just barely made the table to feed the family. All in all a nice day with little wind and it warmed up nicely when the sun broke through.
Big fish caught on a 1/8 pink head with hot pink tube jig. Used everything in my box on the rest.
Looking forward to learning how to fish this lake during the winter.
