Default Big Sandy Saturday the 18th

Funny, we call Big Sandy our "home lake" but we've barely had a chance to fish it this year, so we were really looking forward to yesterday. We hit the water about 6:30 a.m and the sunrise was a beauty. Charlie was on point and ready to feel the wind in his fur. We started out in deeper, open water but the wind was up and there was just too much chop to fish effectively. We headed into one of the creeks and picked up a few dinks, then after it calmed down, headed back out into more open water. We caught the snot out of em but catch to keep ratio was not good. Tried different depths, but caught the most in 10 to 14 fow. We had a good time though - had several times I couldn't get one in the boat and re-rigged fast enough before another pole went down. Those LFT live baby shads were getting the job done. Had a good day with my sweetie and got enough keepers to fix crappie cakes today. Life is good.

Sounds like a great time. Nothing like a good fishing partner and good weather with some fish to boot.
