Hey ya'll, I may be moving near these lakes. I was hoping you could fill me in on the fishing of these lakes. Do they have a good crappie bite?
Also, are there any limitations on number of poles that a person can use? Down here, I either push corks, pull jigs or pull crankbaits.
Thanks for any infor that you can share.

Sounds Like you're new to our area buddy, Here's a TWRA link Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - Rules & Regulations , Then click on the pdf download and save it to your computer the link for the pdf would be called "2011 Fishing Regulations Guide".... Of course there's a limit of crappie which is 15 but no creel limits on Bluegills/warmouths/and other species of sunfish...and if you like catfishing only 1 catfish over 34" can be kept and anything under that is no limit...
Edit: oh yeah and you can use as many poles as you like too...
uh-oh i've been keeping 30, hope i'm not in trouble!!! On OH & PP

Man, that's some complicated regs. At first it looks like these two lakes are Region 2 which has a 15 fish creel limit, but then further into it, these particular lakes are exempt? with a 30 fish limit. Actually pretty close to Alabama, ya'lls cull is higher with 10 inches.
Thanks for the link.
Another question, For you folks with the HB units, does Navionics maps give these lakes justice? They did a poor job on Alabama's Wheeler"s flats around Decatur. Just curious if they are useful on these lakes.
Yeah, I like the maps you can buy at Wallmart for Percy Priest (well it's more like a book actually), I'm not too sure if it's got old hickory in it though. But the Percy Priest Lake diagram in this book is very accurate, it's even is accurate about how deep the water is from the bank which is 10', out to where it is 20' about 5 or 10' out from the bank...but it costs like $21.00 though...your best bet would be to get this book,it was well worth the money to me...

LOL...The only thing that confuses me is the possession limit, I think I'm going to have to call them about that question BC I can't seem to find an answer for it. Like how many your allowed to have in the freezer if you go out the next day and catch more, It doesn't really say much about that in the pdf though...
You're right about the 10 min length/30 fish limit on PP and OH. It's kinda weird how TN sets different limits on different areas, but I think it's an honest attempt at managing each fishery individually rather than using a blanket policy.
Digi is right about one thing. Possession limit could be defined better. It really boils down to this - you can keep twice the daily limit for the water you fish. Properly labeling your frozen catch with location and species is recommended for demonstrating compliance.
I can't help much with personal experience on mid tn lakes, but I've got a buddy who likes pulling cranks and vertical jigging on PP.
If you do make the move - Welcome to TN. We've got some good fishin here.
