The River used to be my favorite place to fish. The river was very good for me produceing
two state record white bass. For me the white bass peaked out in '03. In the fall as the river
was more stable and clear the fishing would be red hot for white bass. I could catch largemouth
in the slough's off the river. It was a really a small window as far as levels went. It basically
came down to that you wanted the level to be as low as it could be to accses the sloughs.
Between the curse of the asain carp and the corps the river is in very bad shape. This is based
on the fishing in the Memphis area. As the sloughs have filled in over the years ( this sediment
should be on the coast of Louisiania) the area's for game fish have greatly demenished.
