Starting next week I will begin my spring routine of spending all my time off work on the Tennessee River. Anybody been catching them South of I-40? Are they starting to move up or is spider rigging still the ticket? Thanks!

I fished Perryville/Beech river a couple times week before last. During then the water was low with most of the shallow stakebeds in 4-6" of water. I did catch some real nice fish in the deeper laydowns but no limits. I spoke to both tightline/minnow and spiderriggers who were having the same kinda luck, no numbers but those caught were nice fish. The water then was 50-55d.
The river aint doing nothing but flat rolling right now, expected to get to 365 by the end of the week. tie yard opens on Thursday next week.lol
Thanks for the report Dickieboy! Slickwater, what is this "tie yard"? I think Busselltown opens the 16th as well. I enjoy fishing there also. Does anybody know at what level the river floods Busselltown and you can't get to the ramp? As you can tell I only started fishing the area last year, and I have alot to learn.

I heard from a friend yesterday that he caught 10 sunday and 3 yesterday longlining on big sandy. Also 2 guys went last week tightlining and caught 47 and 60 respectively. I think its about 2 weeks away for longlining. I just know that i have 4 wks and i will be jerking the lips out of them for 3 straight weeks.
Is the River down by the interstate not look like the Mississippi river? (High and Muddy)???
The tie yard is part of the tnwr at the I-40 bridge.
the 16th is Thursday aint it. hehe. yall come one down thursday and we'll see if we can catch a few.
it won't lack much come friday from the forcast river stages.
