Headed to reelfoot for the frist time in 30 years, staying at eagle nest . Dont know the lake at all . Do you think paying a guide is
a waste money and I can find them by myself or should I get a guide to get me going ?

Well it just depends on if you remember anything about the lake. Myself i would probley get a guide. The crappie here are not really all that hard to find, but finding what they are likeing is the key. I fished the washout the other day and had a good one.

well its a little spot of water on the other side of the lake that people ski and swim in. Its also known as sunkist beach. It has sand all around the boat ramp and most of the whole place is sand. There is a big culvert that runs under the road connecting reelfoot lake to it. I fished there this morning for a while and caught several dinks. all were small. There are some nice slabs caught out there though.
