Question What's happening at Watts Bar ....

... with most every other lake in the area being talked about, and fish being caught from .... where's the Watts Bar reports

Them Crappie should be about ready to play ... and I'm ready to pay :p (license, lodging, meals, gas, bait, etc ... you know, stimulate the local economy)

I don't want/expect GPS coord's :D .... just depth & area of the lake (like : river end, island area, Whites Creek area, dam area) And if you don't want to broadcast it all over the nation ... PM me with any info you care to share.

    Thanks, & luck2ya'll .... cp

    Question Me too...

    CrappiePappy,
I am with you on this one. I will be heading for PineyPoint Resort on Sat the 24th. I would like to know the same water temps, crappie fishing report, shallow or deep, trolling or still fishing, etc. I sure missed a good one on GRL with the rest of the guys. Maybe next year. If I hear a report or if you do PM me or I'll PM you. I have heard of some reports of catching em shallow now.

I live in kingston but been driving to chick or ft loudon. i hear they are catching some above hwy 58 up river of kingston and also from thief neck island down to piney creek in the coves.

water is low and a little stained. should be rising soon. i have fished there several times and just have not been able to get on any. should start up anyday now.

most are being caught trolling that i have heard of. dogwoods just bloomed in the last couple days ft loudon is aklmost at full pool so watts bar is next. when it comes up thing will turn on.

    TWRA...04-04...
    Watts Bar
The lake conditions as of 4/04/10 was as follows: The water surface temperature was 58 degrees in the main channel and warmer in the sloughs. The lake elevation was 738.5 feet. This was 2 feet below the normal summer mean. Rockfish and white bass are being caught in greater numbers every week. Jigs, crankbaits and shad are being used most often for bait. A few anglers are still focused on sauger and a few are being caught while bumping the bottom in the tailwaters. Crappie are being caught all over the lake. The water depth range of 4 to 8 feet seems to be the target zone that is the most productive zone. Spawning areas or areas adjacent to the same are the types of areas that seems to be the best areas. Jigs and/or spoons are being used for bait. Bass are being caught most often on gradual sloping banks that transition from deep to shallow water. Crankbaits, jerkbaits, and jigs are being used in most areas. Catfish are being caught in many locations. The larger creeks seem to be the most productive areas for catfish. Most catfish in these areas are suspended. Shad is the better bait choice.
