Fished same water depth as the day before. Started slightly deeper in 14ft but 11-12fow 9ft deep was the ticket. Caught these from 10:30-3pm. Caught 40-50. Threw a bunch of "keeper" fish back and kept 15 slabs. Still no big ones.......... But these fish were slightly bigger on average than the day before. You may notice at the top of the picture a black cappie. A rare treat. It was my first fish i boated. Caught a black crappie off almost the exact same location last year. Makes you wonder. It was not my longest fish or biggest in girth but definately the widest fish I caught all day. So thick it was unbelieveable. Water was 58-60. Fishing is very slow by most accounts here. Dont really know whats up. Lucked up yesterday for sure. Dropped a marker and fished it tight to catch most of these fish. I find the bouy marker to be the most effective tool I have in the boat more often than not. But I lost my markers when I moved into my new shop and luckily there was a yankee, a Reelfoot Yankee, close by to let me borrow his since he wasnt catching any fish! :D:D Thats what good friends do! And I wouldnt get half the time on water I do if it were not for him!!!
