We went to Murray today to give the perch a try. Last time out we caught a few stripers and I had something hit and broke off before I could blink. My buddy thought it was a cat so we took our catfish rods with barrel sinkers and leaders and I put out one to drift just off the bottom with a large minnow on it. Well I got a hit and it was me and the catfish. Finally got him in the boat, weighed, and back overboard. He was 27 Lbs. on our digital scale.
Good think he hit, because it was the only bite I got all morning. My buddy caught one crappie, 9", which went back in and one small perch which he cut up and used for bait.
Talked to 3 different boats and none had caught anything.

Nice fish. Congratulations. If the bite is gonna be slow it is good to be big !
That's a good 'un SeaRay. With such a slow day I know it was nice getting that bite. Congrats on landing that one.Thumbs Up

Nice fish and pic Butch, Congrats on the slab!
Well I better post this one before William gets that hog posted or this one will look small.....
This is another one for over the two pound mark caught on Hartwell 3-12-12. It's the twin of the crappie Butch caught on Russell 3-12-12 ;)
