That's interesting. All the No Alibi Jigs in my box with the exception of the red and white ones were all tied by the gentleman in Rock Hill over 25 years ago. They are 1/32 heads. Maybe the smaller heads have a different look? I've also got a bunch of 1/16 from him in another box and they do have the shape you mention. But it's rare for me to use a head that heavy these days so they are just stored in case I need them at some point. May try them for early season long lining when the fish want less action.

in regard to the head, it was bullet shaped on the originals...however, James eventually went to the round head and it worked just as well. I have several hundred that will probably never see the water. I've fished the no alibis for forty years and I believe their effectiveness was due to the short/small profile. Livescope has proven to me that smaller bait profiles will work when the fish are lethargic and won't hit normal profile baits. That's why in the summertime, the scopers will downsize to 1/64 or even 1/80 jig heads using hand ties or a small 1.2" plastic. And that's why i have shortened the tail on my hand ties.....sometimes less is more. just my .02

Attachment 488687I finally got home to get a picture of the No Alibi Jigs. The top one is a new 1/32 oz by Crappie Cookies. The second is a 1/32 tied by James in Rock Hill. The bottom two are 1/16 tied by James in Rock Hill and have the head shape described above.
