Fished Wylie today thinking the rain would keep it cool and boat traffic low. Thinking the fishing would be good. Well, here’s what happened!! I fished for almost 3 hours before I caught a crappie. I pounded 4 of my best piles and couldn’t get bit!! They were loaded!! My confidence was crushed. A tear puddled up in my eye and thought about taking my jigs and go home. Then I was pissed and thought you’re no quitter!! Finally caught a couple. I think I had 2 at 10:30. Aaah, got the skunk outa the boat. Kept pounding the brush and it picked up a bit. A few here and there. Finally surrendered bout 3:30 with 31 caught. Didn’t keep any since I started so slow but could have kept a limit. Didn’t catch many small fish and didn’t have any big picture fish. This Old Codger is beat , glad I don’t have to fish tomorrow. I’m bout ready for an easy day when they eat it good!! Last couple weeks has beat me down.
