Anybody bought one lately? I had the Mr Fisherman and then the Piranha and they MIGHT last me a year. Tops! So..........I did a little research and narrowed it down between the Bubba Electric and the HD Rapala Electric. The Bubba was $100 and the HD Rapala was $55. After watching this review I went with the Rapala...

Now I dont know how good that Bubba is but I cleaned a few fish with the rapala and that thing doesnt even feel rib bones.Matter of fact you gotta be careful not to push or you will cut thru the backbones. Now if any of you guys have ever run the Mr Fishermen series of fillet knives you know that you have to push the blade thru the fish. Not so with the Rapala R121HD. The blades criss-cross about twice as wide as the cheaper knives and there's no pushing involved. It's like cutting hot butter.
If youre needing a new knife and youre on the fence on what to get I recommend the Rapala Heavy Duty. I bet it would run thru the rib bones on striper and catfish with no problem too. I'm sure the Bubba is as good (cant see how it would be that much better) but it comes at almost twice the price. And according to the reviews this knife should last for years for the common fisherman.
