Slow day on Secession

I would like to know the answer to this question too. I longlined Thursday evening and caught over thirty crappie from 6-8 pm. Only five were over 9” and none were over 11”. In fact, I haven’t caught a decent mess of crappie on secession all year. Happy Easter.

Were you above or below the bridge? That's a heck of a lot better than I did. Refresh my memory, aren't there spotted bass there too? Been a couple years since I fished there but seems like I caught several of those as well. None this trip which I found odd.
I was using jgs, though I did stick minnow on for a while to no avail.
Mind saying what you used?

I typically use minnows, but was running behind so only used jigs. I was above the bridge. I fished the channel all the way to the left hand bend. Best colors were chartreuse and green, white and chartreuse and brown and chartreuse. Didn’t catch a single spotted bass.

Maybe the bigger fish are spawning on the banks, little ones are not old enough yet so they stayed accessible.
Casting minnows under a float near deep shady banks and trees to find out.
