Last Monday I was able to get out on Wylie for a couple hours after work. Wanted to drown some minnows, but the bait shop in Tega Cay was out. So called an audible and grabbed the trolling rods. Found a ton of shad in a cove. Drug baits around and caught two in short order and then the bite went cold. Ended the afternoon with 2 crappies and 2 channel cats.

On Friday, I went back to the bait shop in Tega Cay for minnows for Saturday morning. "Good luck, most minnow dead!!!" I was able to get 15 that weren't belly up. Got up Saturday morning and went to Hunt, Fish, Paddle to buy another dozen or two. Only to find that they are out of business. . Put in at the bridge and ran north. Found a soft bite fishing over brush in 17-25'. Got ready to come home and saw birds diving. Rigged a spoon real quick and pitched to them and pulled up a nice crappie on the first drop. Then played with short bass and perch until idiots in bass boats ran into the school and pushed all the fish back down.
Ended Saturday with 7 for the grill.
