Got on the water as day light was breaking. Launching the pontoon Jig Puller and his friend pulled into the ramp slot beside us and we chatted briefly as they were off to get bait also. Plan to meet up in front of nuke plant main channel side to look for perch. We were out near old duck blind area and Jig Puller went in closer to the points. We manage two crappie in 17 foot of water and a few perch then moved up to BD cove opening and got a couple more perch. Jig Puller went to Crowders and called me to come on up he found some perch. Got there and got what we needed. Then started to the drift off to the side of Jig Puller in 19 foot of water in Crowders. After watching them catch a couple and the skiers get the best of us we moved to different places to try again. We went to a small cove above Commadore Yaht club and that's where Michael got his flat head along with a couple smaller catfish. His first ever big cat. Our goal was to get him one longer than he is tall. I guess we almost did it. It weighed 12 pounds and he had a good fight with it. Taking a little break reeling it in to catch up with his strength. Lots of fun watching him becoming a pro. I think we managed 8 catfish total with his big one. It got hot and the boaters were in full charge on the water. I'm glad I don't do Saturdays on Wylie! Here is his pictures of his prize catch.
