Crappie an Crackers!

No, they were all spawned out from what i saw.

Something else i noticed. I have fished greenwood for bass since 1998. I have caught literally 100's of Largemouth over the years. Never caught a single spotted bass til last year, an 11 incher. This year alone, i have caught over 25, all on the lower end of the lake. Any explanation for this anyone can think of? I assume people have been dumping them in the lake illegally. Spots will ruin most quality largemouth fisheries. I hope it doesnt continue to happen.

Bass clubs got spotted bass started into the lakes. Atleast that is what Ive been told.

I don't know either, all I am saying is I fished Greenwood for years and have seen tons of crappie come out of Greenwood and have never seen a white crappie come out of it, much less a cooler full! Have fished from the dam all the way to the rapids in the Saluda near Ware Shoals!

We fished from the Dam to the first railroad trussell this weekend. The spots are everywhere now, I can assure you everyone I catch goes out of the lake.

I caught 5 keeper white crappie about 12 years ago. Caught them off a dock in a creek off the reedy River. I caught one 3"er under the reedy fork Bridge about 6 years ago. Haven't caught one since. Also, I've read whites have 5-6 dorsal spines and blacks have 7-8.

You may be right on number of spines. I was going on memory( never a good idea in my case). The Black has the higher number, I thought 6 vs 5, but.....the memory thing?

I couldnt have identified them at all til now. LOL

Gotcha, i may try greenwood on the lower end this Sunday. Definitely going to the Hill on saturday.

I never caught a black nosed crappie on the hill before last year either. Reckon where that came from?

how deep was them crappie in Lake Greenwood up in saluda river ??? that's a nice cooler of fish for sure !!!
