3/17/18 Wylie Report - Only a few

Long lined BA and LA this morning and caught a few of decent size early on the long lines. Still getting used to this method of crappie fishing but I like it a lot. Monkey milk and pink were the colors they hit. Later in the AM and just after noon managed a small bass and a nice size catfish. Everything came in the main channels.

Did try to throw some jigs at docks in shallow water but couldn't manage anything. Is anyone catching them shallow yet?

Went to wateree, managed a catfish and striper, no crappie back in coves where i was catching them then afternoon wind made everything un fishable. Water temp was down to 52. Appears crappie moved back out there.

Glad you got out and found some. Longlinning is fun and addictive.

I don’t feel so bad now. Went to Cane creek park to finally get serious about longlining. High winds in a toon was fun. Snagged a 13” while I was bumping bottom running dbl 1/16 in 8fow. More practice is needed for me for sure.
