Got on Murray just after 4 PM Thursday....the lake was the calmest very much like a mirror with ripples here and there...second time out after getting boat back from the shop, the motor wouldn't idle and what a pain in the butt it was......tonight though it did idle which you really need when searching for striper with the lowrance......found fish at 40 feet and set up..........just over and hour with no bites we moved further up the lake, found a lot of fish off a point in 60 feet of water.......had two stripers in the boat rather quickly and then it slowed.......kept seeing large fish on the lowrance and finally one took the herring and off it went.....12 lb blue catfish some 4 minutes later.......long story short we caught the two stripers and then filled up the bait box with seven very nice blues......all were healthy looking so we kept them and they are now in the freezer.....not a striper night but an Arkansas blue catfish night.....smallest was 6lb .........water temp 82 degrees......we left at midnight...
