    Default Murray/Stripers

Well we made our 4th trip to Murray Wednesday night....we didn't get the limit this trip but the 7 fish we had in the box were much better than our previous boxes...one 8lber, three 5lbers, and the balance were 2 to 4 lbs.....we left at 4 AM with no bait left in the bait tank. The last two we caught were on cut bait from two dead minnows.....when we got back to the landing our truck/trailer was the only one in the lot and it was about 5 AM....looks like the bite may be closing off or slowing down....the lake temp was 88.5 degrees up four degrees from the previous week...all in all the month was good with three limits of 10 stripers and the last 7 which were larger overall.....headed to the Myrtle Beach so no fishing this next week on Murray......

I am hearing the bite is slowing down and not lasting long in the morning. Glad that you all had some successful trips

We got a limit of nice ones trolling grandmas last Thursday night. The bite was definitely better between dark and midnight. The bigger fish liked the large plugs.

The Murray fish like the large grandmas with the 4 treble hooks. The clown color and chartruse seemed to do better for us. 10-11 colors of leadcore line and 2.1 MPH. The larger fish came out to play after dark. It took longer to get a limit than the rest of the fleet but the average was about 25 inches with a couple larger thrown in for good measure.

Zero hybrid in Murray. Only strippers. Hybrid might be a better option with the use of water these days. 5# hybrid will drown a 5# striper. Pull better.
