It's been a great summer of fishing thus far. I've been very busy with work and family lately and haven't taken the time to post any reports, but I have managed to slip off to the water a time or four since the beginning of June. All the trips have resulted in at least one limit kept except for a short trip with my little girl. The fish haven't been very aggressive and you have to coax them into biting but the pattern has been consistent and some nice fish have been caught. We've been jigging all types of cover in 5-20 FOW and it's been a "one here, one there" game for the most part. Basically, if you cover enough water you will end up with a nice mess and it's likely you might find 10-15 on one magic spot. Best color has been anything with yellow and chartreuse.

Of all the trips, the two best were a trip with my Dad July 1st and a trip with my little girl on July 4th. My Dad and I have been taking a fishing trip for my B-day and Fathers Day since I was 4 years old. To my knowledge, we've never missed a year and this was our 25th year. To be able to share the boat with my Dad, who has taught me more about life and fishing than anyone else, is always very special to me. It was hot, but we had a great time and shared many laughs. My little girl just turned 2 this past weekend and on July 4th we took her out to try and catch a few. We were successful in that venture and I believe she's going to take to it about like I did. Every fish I hooked I helped her reel it in and she'd put it in the livewell. Then she'd say, "More daddy, more!" LOL It won't be long before I'll have a wonderful excuse to go fishing!!! And, in another couple months our little family will be getting the addition of another little girl! I'm sure my fishing time will take another hit for a while, but I'm going to have one heck of a time in a few years!! Heck, I might even need a bigger boat LOL
