Default Sad day for ScooperDude family

With sadness I must report that we put Gretzky down this morning, he had a large mass on his liver. Gretzky was 13 years 3 months, 3 days old. Gretzky was in training to be a service dog until he decided he wanted to come home and work for us instead. He helped raise thousands of dollars for Canine Companions for Independence cci.org | Homepage. Gretzky traveled the country with Linda and me. Flew 1st class air several times. Fished with me many times, love to retrieve the ball or anything you'd throw.
    Give your pet a hug.
Here's a shot of Gretzky in better days

We had a golden that looked just like Gretzky. Her name was Lexi. Two years ago at the age of 13 she developed a large cancerous lump on her right shoulder and we had to put her down. The hurt is still there but the memories are all good. She was one of them that never, ever did anything wrong. She still comes up in our family conversations on a regular basis. As you know, goldens make great family members.
If we did what was most important in life there would be a shortage of Bibles.................and fishing poles

Sorry for your loss and the pain in your heart. Been down that road many times. Currently have two goldens now. They are a special breed.

Keep your chin up Grady! You had 13 great years with him. I know how you are feeling because I have been there.

Sorry, to hear about your buddy. It is sad to have to bare the pain but we all do it over and over again. Bigdawgg is thirteen and will be 14 in Nov. I feel your grief and hope the your other dogs will take some of the pain away.
If you want to co parent Bigdawgg I'll let you have him on weekends and holidays!
